Air Force FUN!

Posted by Austin on 10:29 AM in ,
In honor of Cameron's birthday, we celebrated by watching his favorite movie: 'Air Force One'. Why is it his favorite movie? Nobody knows. I hadn't seen it since I was like 14, but I remembered the basics of it. Prior to the movie, I doodled what I thought the film was about.
Turns out I was strangely accurate.

There are some unintentionally funny parts of the movie, watching it now. Like the fact that their screening to get on Air Force One is just walking through a metal detector. Oh pre-9/11 America, how naive and innocent you were.

I will admit, I really, really like the score. It's a Jerry score, and I love me some Goldsmith. It's brassy and serious in all the right parts, and lends more presidential dignity than a movie about President Rambo on an airplane probably deserves.

Also, Dean Stockwell is in it! I kept waiting for him to tell Sam to keep moving until Ziggy can figure out how to get him off the plane.

In conclusion, Left 4 Dead 2 came out yesterday, and I watched 'Air Force One' instead. Shameful.

And Xander Berkeley and Gary Oldman!

I loved that movie when I was like 13, and I own it on DVD now. It's definitely a fun one. I think it's cool seeing the inside of Air Force One in the movie, and it looks quite a bit like it looks in the game Perfect Dark. I also really like that the president spends a lot of the movie just sneaking around pissing the bad guys off. It's like Die Hard on a plane.
