My Pals
Collin & Jenn (The Harvey Family Blog!)
True Story: I met Collin when I was 12, and we've been friends ever since then. Every time I mention that I have friends out of state, it's Collin that I default to. I love that big, burly Texan, and he loves his lil' lady (who I haven't met, but I'm assured is wonderful).
Daniel (No One Wants This Story)
True Story: Daniel's one of those people that, although I've never met him in person, I feel like I could probably hang out with and have a conversation with no awkward pauses. He's also a talented musician, and a pretty cool guy.
Don (Solo)
True Story: Don probably has the biggest collection of R2-unit memorabilia in the world. OK, maybe that's not entirely true, but I'd wager a Snickers bar that he's at least in the top ten. Don's a pretty cool guy, and a great big nerd, and his blog's much more interesting than mine.
Dr. Franklin Ruehl (Mysteries From Beyond The Other Dominion)
True Story: I once asked Dr. Ruehl about the origin of a particular word that he frequently uses. He told me, and then delivered his signature catchphrase ('May the power of the cosmos be with you!') to me. And I was stoked beyond belief.
James (<->)
True Story: I recently got in a really catty fight on James' Facebook wall. He didn't immediately delete me, which means he's good people!
Justin & Tennille (Justin & Tennille)
True Story: The first time I ever met Justin, he was taking flaming shots off of a formica counter while dressed in Desert Storm gear. I was initially a little bit terrified, but then I got better. Tennille, on the other hand, is an absolute expert at finding stock photographs. If I were ever held hostage and needed someone to find me a photo of a man dressed in a bear costume holding a clipboard, she'd be the one to call.
Kira (Kira: The Blog!)
True Story: Kira is my sister. As such, any true story that I told about her would probably be less than flattering to either party. That said, she once stabbed me in the head with a fork at a Japanese restaurant. I bet I deserved it.
Marque (Wouldn't You Rather Be Reading Something Else?)
True Story: The first time I met Marque, she was playing 'Spyro The Dragon' on the PS1. As a big Spyro fan myself, I was impressed by her good taste in games, and her skill at collecting gems. Then she collected Spencer, which is pretty decent taste too.
Richard (The Chimerical Adventures of Rich $)
True Story: Richard and I were once involved in a minor kerfuffle with the police due to a film set we staged including a broken toilet, several beers, an airsoft revolver and cheerleader magazines. The story's longer, and more arduous than that, but that's the short version.
Ryan & Katie (The Wood Family Blog)
True Story: Ryan and I have been friends for a long time. The first time we hung out in person, we went to my favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant, and he sampled the delicious dishes. Now, several years later, I've met his wife, and his oldest son, who visited me while I was in exile down in the desert. Good people, and good friends.
Sarah (Through Dangers Untold and Hardships Unnumbered)
True Story: Sarah could best be described as 'big sister'-ish, but I don't think that gets to the heart of it. Sarah's what it would be like to be friends with Daria (from the cartoon 'Daria') if Daria had short man syndrome and impeccable taste in music.
Scott (The Grassy Null)
True Story: There was a period I was convinced that Scott was a bizarro world doppelganger version of myself. Not necessarily because of similar interests, but because we have all the same obsessive-compulsive, neurotic Woody Allen-esque ticks and intricacies.
Spencer (Blahg.)
True Story: If I had to identify which friend I've known the longest, it'd probably be Spencer. I knew him when we were both little kids, drawing comic strips in French class, and we shared several of the same 'early teenager' traumatic events. Now we're just regular friends, minus the trauma.
